Halloween is a time when even the most health-conscious can gorge on candy corn and other junk without feeling guilty. It’s also a good time to experiment with new cannabis recipes. Here are three adults-only Halloween treats that will bring your party to new heights.
White Chocolate Ghosts
This recipe is easy and inexpensive, so you can throw it together in just a few minutes on any budget. Melt 1 one cup of white chocolate chips with 2 tablespoons cannabutter, mixing it thoroughly. Pour spoonfuls of the mixture on parchment paper in a ghostly shape. Place raisins as eyes once the ghosts start to set, and then place them in the fridge for a few hours so they set entirely.
Caramel apples are fairy tale lore and good Halloween treats. Transform the caramel with some cannabis, and you have an adults-only treat your friends will love. This recipe is creative and at least a little bit healthy.
Clean 12 apples and put a Popsicle stick in the top end of each apple. Melt 1/4 cup cannabutter, 1 cup white syrup, 2 cups white sugar and 14 ounces condensed milk over medium heat. Once the caramel starts to get sticky, gently stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and then remove the caramel from heat. Dip your apples in the caramel, then roll them in candy, nuts and other garnishes. Place the apples on a buttered baking sheet or parchment paper to set.
Chocolate Red Velvet Cupcakes
Red velvet anything is ideal for Halloween — when the holiday is rife with blood-themed decor, these cupcakes will fit right in. Garnish them with blood-red frosting or jelly, and they’re even better.
Preheat your oven at 350 degrees and sift 3 tablespoons cocoa powder, 1 1/4 cups flour, and 1/4 teaspoon salt in a bowl. Add 1 cup sugar and 1 stick of cannabutter, beating the mixture until it’s fluffy. Mix in two large eggs, one at a time, and then add 2 teaspoons red food coloring and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Blend in 1 1/4 cup flour in small increments and 1/2 cup sour cream. In a separate bowl, blend together 1 teaspoon baking soda and 1 teaspoon white vinegar. Just as the concoction stops fizzing, add it to the rest of your batter. Fill cupcake liners 3/4 of the way in your cupcake pan and bake for about 20-25 minutes.
